The house has 3 stories and is near the end of a dead end alley in the Kasbah of Moulay Idriss. You enter the house on the main or middle floor which is where the family lives. There is also a large Moroccan salon or living room where meals can be served and the kitchen is also on this floor. On the top floor is one large room with a bed and Moroccan sofas for a sitting area or they can be used as twin beds. This room is just off the terrace which has a lovely view of the local cemetary as well as olive trees on the hillside. This bedroom has a private bathroom with an adjoining door, hot water for shower and sit down western toilet.
On the bottom floor there are 5 bedrooms that wrap around a common sitting area in a Moroccan style salon. Each room has a private adjoining bath with shower facilities and sit down western toilet. In the summer months these rooms are the coolest in the house. There is also a very small open air courtyard area on the bottom floor.
Guestrooms are also available with 2 twin beds in the room.

Guesthouse or riad?A Moroccan riad is typically a house with rooms built around a central open courtyard. The term guesthouse means that you are in the home with the family although you have your own private room and bath. It offers more of a chance to glimpse the other culture and interact with the family you are staying with. Many riads are available to rent by the room or the complete house is often rented. Renting a complete guesthouse would put the family out of their home so the term literally means you are a guest in their home with them. It is similar to the bed and breakfast concept which many people prefer over a hotel in the U.S. and Europe.
